Long ago forgotten, near the banks of a surging river, there lies a reclusive patch of land, out of sight and out of mind of the general population. This patch of land is known as Hopewell Cemetery and it’s taken its place among the ranks of Indiana’s notorious haunted locations. Many people disagree on the validity of this graveyard, but regardless of the stance, one can’t help but note the oddly arranged nature of this deathly destination.

The Background:

Located near the reservoir, this hidden cemetery has the reputation for paranormal activity. Orbs, odds sounds, shadowy figures and buildings that appear in photographs but are not there have all been reported here.

Our Investigation:

Usually we stray from investigating cemeteries for a variety of reasons. Mainly, nobody has died there, it’s invasive or disrespectful to the survivors of the deceased and also… it’s incredibly cliché. There are some exceptions we will make if there is overwhelming evidence or stories surrounding it. This was one such instance.

The night of our investigation was nearly perfect. Nice weather, nice moon, nice atmosphere… but the bugs. The bugs drove us crazy. Being situated so close to an enormous reservoir, there were so many bugs it was difficult to see anything else at times. Biting, stinging, flying in our nose and mouth… it was almost unbearable. We persevered though and managed to stick it out for a full investigation.

The Results: Absolutely nothing… there were no hits on our meters, any EVPs to speak of, and nothing captured on camera or video. Our thorough investigation yielded nothing but insect bites and a little fun we had on the side before getting started. Sorry to report ladies and gentlemen, but this place is about s active as… well… a graveyard.

The Conclusion:

Examples such as this are why we choose not to investigate cemeteries often. There was nothing pointing to paranormal activities, nothing lending credit to the rumors surrounding the place and nothing to make us call it a haunted location. The creepiest thing about this place is the way nearly all of the headstones are broken, knocked over, or irregularly placed.
